Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Early Childhood Services

Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (T.W.G.Hs.) is the largest charitable organization with the longest history in Hong Kong. T.W.G.Hs. provides a wide range of services including medical, education and social welfare. Today, T.W.G.Hs. operates over 309 service centres in Hong Kong.
T.W.G.Hs. started to develop day nursery services in 1968, and there have been 15 nursery schools which are registered as Non-Profit-Making Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centres. Services such as long whole-day care and education services for children under the age of six, Integrated Programme and On-site Preschool Rehabilitation Services are offered for the children with special educational needs. All nursery schools are dedicated to children education according to different developmental stages. This would be beneficial to the build-up on good habits, healthy growth and positive learning attitudes as well as basic abilities of children.

學校特色

	以多元化及啟發性的遊戲及活動形式進行教學。
	著重幼兒的生活自理及獨立能力，學習照顧自己、照顧別人和照顧環境，培養關愛文化。
	按幼兒不同的能力和發展，實行均衡、綜合和螺旋式的課程。
	就幼兒發展進行觀察及評估，並定期進行有關觀察及發展報告。
	定期與家長溝通，聯繫和合作，鼓勵家長參與親子活動與親職教育活動。

School Facilities

The school has six activity rooms plus well-equipped gross-motor facilities, musical instruments etc. There are children washroom and multiple corners, including language corner, arts and crafts corner, book corner, exploration corner, imagination corner, teaching materials corner, toy corner, ground toy corner etc. in the activity rooms. These facilities help to stimulate children's learning interest and potential. The school also has a kitchen to prepare daily healthy diet for all children.

History

1991

本園前身為「東華三院田景幼兒園」，於一九九一年成立及投入服務，為屯門區有需要之家庭提供日間幼兒照顧及教育服務。期後蒙方潤華基金於一九九三年慷概捐助服務發展，命名為「東華三院方譚遠良幼兒園」。為配合協調學前服務，二零零五年九月本園於教育局註冊為幼兒中心暨幼稚園。

1998

為培育幼兒全人發展，本園於1998年開始發展情緒智能課程，逐漸有系統地建立關愛文化。經過多年的優化發展，本園營造了一個培養情緒健康發展的環境，令幼兒感到愛護和尊重，建立正面的自我形象，並能在學習上擁有自信和關顧社群的需要。此外，東華三院亦特意為家長推行「自尊自信成長樂」的幼兒家長教育課程，讓家長能掌握幼兒成長的知識，提升親職的效能與親子關係，締造一個培養孩子自尊自信的家庭文化。

2004

於二零零四年開始逐步進行「當堂故事」及「詩流感」活動，透過互動的模式讓幼兒以隨想隨講形式，以故事表達對生活的體驗與想像，幼兒藉著故事和詩句創作，提升說故事之興趣，並學習把生活與文字連結，從創作中體現文字之活力和趣味。

2009

於二零零九年由何鴻毅家族基金與台灣雲門舞集舞蹈教室合辦，把「敢動!」身體教育計劃引入香港，於東華三院轄下15所幼兒園推行恆常課程，為幼兒提供一個讓他們健康快樂成長的藝術教育平台。「敢動!」身體教育計劃鼓勵幼兒以生活經驗為出發點，啟發幼兒透過音樂、形體創造、戲劇等元素表達生活經驗、情感及想像。

2011

本園於二零一一年開始引入蒙特梭利教學法之「生活訓練」教學活動，透過生活流程及角落中具生活化之教具的應用，從而熟練及應用各種基礎技能，培養及發展幼兒不同範疇之學習能力，包括自理、獨立、專注、精細動作、協調能力、操作工具的技能、發展次序感，以及照顧自己、別人與環境等能力。

2016

本園於二零一六年開始與設計及文化研究工作室合作推行親親大自然－「幼兒文化教育計劃」課程，以「自然」為主題，配合教育署最新修訂的《幼稚園課程教育指引》，加強探索和生活化的教學模式，注重幼兒品德培育，並融合藝術和文化元素，讓幼兒建立良好的價值觀，為學習中華文化及欣賞藝術的好開始。

Teaching Team

本園校長及幼兒導師均接受了教育局認可的幼兒教育訓練課程，其中校長及6位幼兒導師已取得幼兒教育學士學位，另有3位幼兒導師正修讀幼兒教育學士學位課程，師資優良且具備豐富的教學經驗。每年，本園教職員會定期參與教育局及東華三院提供多元的在職培訓和專題課程，持續地提升幼兒導師的幼教專業知識與輔導幼兒技巧，讓幼兒得到優質及適切的照顧及教育服務。
